my group did it like this
northwest there is cave with the yellow troll near droknar's forge
first we killed off all henchmen and things besides the boss(our henchmen too)
then we kept troll near 25% hp
one person drops and picks like crazy until others cap it
then they drop while i cap it

I have come to the conclusion that this games monsters are really stupid sometimes. Like the custodian guys they use thrill of victory still when im near full hp and they are almost dead kind of seems wierd to me.
EDIT: Both time that I got him to use Defy Pain I did so much damage to him so fast that he used Healing Signet first which I distrupted chopped (the first time by accident) and right after that he uses defy pain. Just make sure you hurt him so fast he doesnt have time to hammer bash you and have to heal him self.

Multifate, repinsmirg is right about the damage. If you just have warriors beating on him you'll need to disrupt as much as possible.
The first guys to get it I assume had some heavy hitting mages with them and thats why he used it for them. If you take large amounts of damage very quickly your adrenaline bar will fill up quick.
If you can't find enough damage dealers to get the job done and you're stuck with just warriors make sure he's above 75% health. I found that I needed to disrupt his first hammer bash when the fight first started for him to use it. I would say to run away and start over if you miss the disrupt. Hope that helps.

Custodians Dellus, Fidius, Hulgar (Forgotten Enchanted Bosses) - Warriors Endurance
Crippling Shot -- Melandru's Cursed (Golem Boss)
Punishing Shot -- Thul Boulderrain (Giant Boss)
Thank Tala who came up with the information from the prime E-guide. It should all still be accurate because they keep the e-guides up to date.

Hmm, I've tried to cap it drom Hulgar and Dellus before...they didn't use it. Is there something we need to do? Did they patch them recently and now they actually use them?

Might be bugged like Battle Rage and we have to do some wacky thing to make them use it. I was up there earlier trying to get it but didn't have the two skills they used so made it even harder. Trying to get 3 more skill points so I can head up there but that is about 80k in exp.

hey its been said many times, but ill confirm it again. dropping/picking up items does work for battle rage. if you just stand there waiting for him to cast it, he never will (we waited eons for him to bring it) also, it doesn't show up on the bar under his name. only way is to spam it, or look for a cloud surrounding him. its an awesome skill

Kemel, I looked through the book that Rep and I got the info from, and couldn't find a listing of what area those bosses are in.
Sorry. Hopefully someone will have seen them somewhere and will post that information here.

I don't know if it will help but I've got a spreadsheet which has a large proportion of the elite skills plus their stats, locations and the bosses that have them. Only problem is that all details were taken from the various sites online (gwonline, guru etc) and so I haven't had a chance to verify them all myself. Plus it could be laid out a bit better.
Still it might help someone if they need all the information to hand. Oh and the ranger doesn't have any locations on there yet. I ran out of time as I've been writing it for my own personal use whilst at work (ony in the quiet moments ).
If it helps the thread you can contact me on hol_cmeast (at) hotmail (dot) com. Or of course just on here

<from original post>
Victory is Mine! (Witman's Folly:Sakalo Yawpyawl[Grawl] -> not anymore ?)
Its still there on Sakalo it took me over 40 enters/exits to witmans to find him, he have it, and he use it (about 5 days work) but he definetly still has it, I'm sorry I don't have a Screenshot, but I was so freaking happy I FINNALLY got it. I had to change my pants.
A tip to getting it, 4 henchmen, fighter,brawler ,healer,protector, kill his spellcasters, and leave 3-4 of the Hammer wielding Grawls alive, he only has one status condition attack (belly smash) but since bellysmash and his knockdown are both adrenaline attacks, he doesn't use them in succession, so I got it when one of the Grawls knocked down Thom, he used belly smash to AoE blind us, then he used ViM to gain life energy, he did this a few times, as I kept getting interupted on the capture. but on the 3rd time, I got it.

well i'm out here in perdition rock now. Melandru's Cursed has popped as the first golem boss at the beginning of the zone. easy to get to. right now it's just me, the boss, and Mhenlo. so far the only skills i've seen is barbed trap, apply poison, and troll ungeunt. haven't seen him use any ranged attack period... so i'm not too sure about him using crippling. i find it hard to believe.
i have tried kiting him around. and in a second here i'm gonna do the item dropping technique.
so yeah that didn't work out.
2nd time out. i brought pin down and distracting shot this time. still no crippling from this guy. i used pin down and ran. got nothing. i got him extremely low life by using distracting shot against his troll unguent. still nothing. after about a 30 minute fight i just ended it.
My Conclusion after two 30min battles is he doesn't have it.

Frustrating isn't it? I had the same problem with some Warrior skills like Defy Pain that I complained to Arena.net. Dunno if they will do anything though. However, going through the same area countlessly just to get some skill from the whimsical boss can drive anyone up the wall.
I marvel at the persistence of the ppl who keep going at it.
